How often do I need to vaccinate my sheep/goats?

Young ruminants should be vaccinated at 3 months of age and have a booster within 2 – 4 weeks. Adult animals should be vaccinated yearly.

Do I need to deworm my sheep/goat?

Deworming should occur at least twice a year; spring and fall, due to the worm burden being high in the field at these times.

How often should I trim their hooves?

Hooves should be trimmed every 6 – 8 weeks depending on the surface where they spend most of their time.

General Information
Goats are indiscriminant eaters, so keep rhododendrons, azaleas and any flowering ornamental plants out of their grazing area. Goats also have daily nutritional requirements. Field/pasture grazing only is not enough to keep them healthy.
